3 months old! A little late, but things have been super busy over here and blogging has been put on the back burner. :)

Okay, so little man is still cute and sweet as can be, not sleeping as well as he was...booooooooo. I miss my good sleeper. Hoping its just a stage, might be teething? Not sure, never really sure at this age! He is cooing and smiling like crazy. I love his little chuckles, makes my day!

Ro can roll from tummy to back and to his side. He loves to play with his monkey and cow toys.
Still has his little dimple on one cheek.
Wears size 2 diapers
3-6 and some 6m clothes
Nurses every 4-5 hours
Not sure on his hair yet! Could still be blonde or brown, we will see!
Chews on his fingers a lot, might be teething! We are trying an amber teething necklace to see if that helps, I think it might be!
He doesn't like pacifiers! Not sure if that is a bad thing or a good thing yet, but sometimes I really wish he would take one! :)
Loves to look around and take everything in, laid and quiet most of the time
He doesn't like to be swaddled anymore! Now he is in sleeping sacks at night.

Some pictures of the cuteness, I just can't handle it!! :)
Baby Ro is 2 months old! This is going by way too fast! Here is what little nuggy has been up to these days...

Growing! At his Dr appt, he was 12 lbs 3.5oz and 23 1/4in. and super healthy. He nurses every 4-5 hours, but during growth spurts sometimes its 2-3 hrs. He is so nice to his mommy and will sleep 8 hour stretches sometimes at night! Most of the time, its 5-6 hrs.

He is such a happy baby, so smiley and such a flirt. This baby loves to cuddle and we enjoy the cuddles right back. When he smiles, he has a cute little dimple on his left chubby cheek!

I was so use to Dillon being small, so Ro seems so big! He is already in 3-6 clothes and size 2 diapers! He is just a little round lump and we love it. I am excited for cute little baby rolls :)

Baby Ro loves to grab his toys in his car seat and watch his hands. He is so observant and loves to watch his brother go crazy. His neck control is amazing and he loves tummy time unless he is tired.

He loves napping in his swing, being swaddled, baths and cooing at mommy.

Love this sweet boy!
Little man is one month already! Well, more than one month, 6 weeks old today! We missed his one month dr appt on the 15th (oops, that's what happens these days with two crazy kids and a crazy mommy) so we had it on Wednesday. Dr Clark said he was perfect, which I knew already. He didn't cry at all and Dillon was a good big brother while we were there.
I made a First Year book for Dillon with all the blog posts I did on him every month, so I am going to try to do the same for Ronan! It is so much easier to keep it all on here to have a record, I can't remember a thing these days! :)

Little Ro is 10 pounds, 3 oz (40%) and 22 1\4 in (60%). He is such a happy baby, I didn't think he would be as easy as Dillon but he has spoiled us. He even slept for seven hours last night! I'm sure that won't last long, I feel a growth spurt coming on soon! Other than sleeping all the time, he eats about every 4-5 hours. He loves the swing, loves to be cuddled, only likes soothie pacis, likes to be swaddled at night and is in awe of his crazy brother. He has baby acne, but not as bad as Dillon had. His little head is balding and its hard to tell what color his hair will be, possibly blonde. Right now, its light brown. Wouldn't it be funny if it came in red, lol!! Ronan has been a great addition to our family, I could just snuggle him all day!! Can't wait to see what the next month brings!
This was literally the fasted pregnancy ever! From trips in the spring and summer to photo shoots every weekend until the last month, I was so busy to notice! The first trimester was rough bc of norovirus, full body hives from a reaction to zofran and another rash from antibiotics from a UTI. Other than that, the rest was a breeze. Ronan was so nice to mommy. I didn't swell up like a puffer fish like I did with Dillon and felt great all the way to the end. He never really dropped, so that also had something to do with it. Here is the birth story, mainly for my records and to put in Ronan's First Year book like we did for Dillon!

December 14th (which was a horrible day, I cried and cried that afternoon watching the news) I felt itchy all day on my hands and feet. The day before I had a gall bladder attack but didn't put two and two together until I googled "itchy hands and feet in late pregnancy" and up pops something called cholestasis of pregnancy and I had a lot of the symptoms other than the itching and the gall bladder. Jenna had just arrived a few hours earlier, which was perfect timing!! I kind of freaked out about what I googled and called the OB on call (it was around 10:30pm at this point). She reassured me everything would be fine, but to come in and be induced since I was already 4 cm (from my dr appt that Monday before. Thank you Lauren for telling me to eat so much pineapple, it definitely helped!!). She said better to be safe and go ahead and get things moving and they would test for CoP. It was so surreal getting everything together already, two days before my due date. It felt so early compared to waiting for practically a year to have Dillon (he was 11 days late). So off we went and Jenna stayed with Sherman at the house. Dillon was already spending the night at my mother in laws, so that worked out great.
My emotions were all over the place at this point-so excited knowing he would be here soon and super nervous about being induced since that didn't go so well the first time. We arrived at UNC Women's around midnight and got settled. They started pitocin and I tried to get some sleep while my contractions got stronger over night. After maybe a couple hours of sleep, they checked me pretty early in the morning and I was still between a 4 and 5, but my contractions were a lot stronger. I decided to go ahead and get my epidural before they broke my water. Best. Decision. Ever. They broke my water afterwards and the waiting game was on. Not too much longer, I could slowly feel more and more sharp pain on my left side and was wondering if something was wrong with the epidural. I had to breath through those contractions and grit my teeth until they came and fixed the epi. Once I had more juice flowing, I couldn't feel a thing and looking back, it wasn't all that bad. They weren't going to check me again for a while, but I told them I could feel a lot of pressure. My sweet nurse, who I loved, checked me and said "um you are a 10!" So all the pain I was feeling was me going from 5cm to 10cm in less than an hour. It was time to push! I was all smiles at this point and ready to get this show on the road. I loved how calm and quiet it was in the room. Even though UNC is a teaching hospital, there was no one in the room except my one nurse and Evan the whole time I pushed. 20 minutes was all it took and she told me to stop bc he was RIGHT THERE! She said I was a champ at pushing. The doctor came in, a couple pushes more and he was out at 9:56am! Even though there was muconeum in my water, they still placed him on me and I got to hold my sweet boy before they took him to get suctioned and Evan cut the cord. Something I didn't think I would get to do. It was such a calm, relaxing, and happy delivery. If we have anymore babies, they will be born at UNC. I can't say enough great things about the nurses and doctors!

Here are some pictures of our new little guy, who is just too cute for words, but I'm biased. :)

Dillon is such a good big brother! He didn't get to meet Ro until we came home because of his cough. He was so excited to see all of us and just tickled pink over his new brother. He kissed him, rubbed his head, and kept saying "Baby Ronan came out of your tummy!" and "I love my brother!" He even sang a couple songs to him. I hope they are best buds and never ever fight! ha!

Baby Ro is so good, he sleeps a lot and cries some in the evenings from gas, but he's pretty much just like Dillon was as a baby-laid back and easy peasy. I hope it continues!
I have been making a lot of yummy pumpkin things lately-pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, pumpkin bread, pumpkin dip and pumpkin/squash soup.
The soup has been my favorite so far, so thought I would share the recipe. This was my first attempt of homemade soup, so I was thrilled with how yummy it was! The base of the recipe is from my friend, but I added and took away some things. The best part is you don't really need to measure, and you can add more or less of ingredients to fit your taste buds.

So here it is...

~Pumpkin Butternut Squash Soup~

One large Butternut Squash peeled and chopped
2 apples (I used Gala) peeled and chopped
Chopped sweet onion to taste (I used about half a small onion)
3 Tbsp of butter
One can of pumpkin puree
salt and pepper
pumpkin pie spice
1 1/3 cup of apple cider (I used the spiced kind with orange, cinnamon and clove)
2-4 cups of water or stock, depending on how thick you like your soup

~Melt butter in large pot, saute onions until clear
~Toss in squash and apples, saute for a couple minutes, then add about 2 cups of water and bring to a boil
~Simmer for around 20 minutes until squash is soft
Pour everything into blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add can of pumpkin and blend again until smooth.
~Pour everything back into pot on stove on low heat. Add apple cider and the rest of water, depending on thickness you prefer.
~Add spices and heat on low (do not boil) until soup is hot.

Enjoy!! I made enough for two lunches and then was able to freeze about 3 bowls worth. Can't wait to make it again!
The bump, almost 26 wks! Third trimester will be here before we know it!! This pregnancy has gone by way faster than with Dillon. We switched from the Duke Hospital system to UNC Hospitals this pregnancy, and have been very pleased so far. This is the only time I can say I like UNC better than Duke lol!
Baby Ronan has a couple new burp cloths made by mommy! We have had his name picked out for a while now, but I feel like its more official when I put it on things, haha! His full name is Ronan Charles. We love it!
It took a lot longer than I thought, but I love how it all turned out! Dillon helped with a few of the things, and he just loves looking at all his train stuff everywhere!

The bedding was the first thing in there, I am so jealous of his bed! It is so so soft and comfy and I want to steal it from him! The big RR sign above the bed is made by daddy. It turned out great! Just a simple 1x4 cut in half and painted to resemble the real thing. I love how Dillon picks out the signs he sees at RR crossings and says "hey, that's in my room!"

To the right of the bed is a side table we already had (Ikea). It is lower than a normal bedside table, so I had the idea of adding a suitcase to the top to make it taller. Since the room has a vintage feel going on, I wanted an old suitcase, and the one we found was perfect! My Grandpa's from the 1940's. He said he hitchhiked across Maine with it, carrying deer meat inside....Good story but I think its a stretch. :) Under the table is a basket from his old room with all his books. Ignore the crazy mess of the books and whatnot on the floor. That's just toddler life. Be glad I got it looking this good for the pics! haha!

The bed skirt was going to be light blue, but I found some burlap I had laying around and attached it to just the end and it looked good with the theme, so I bought more and just pinned it to the box spring. No sewing, just cutting! His bed is really high, so I put this cute antique bench at the end of his bed so he can climb up a little easier. Another cheap thrift store find!

To the right of his bed is his wall collage. He loves looking at all the train pics in the frames! The white frames are all Ikea and the others were thrift store finds. I'm talkin 50-75 cents! I had some blue yarn left from a project and wrapped a letter D (this took forever) and I added some curtain fabric in frames to tie it in. The yellow RR sign was a special sign Dillon picked out at our Tweetsie Railroad trip back in July!

The wall next to the closet (behind the door) has his RR sign clock, maybe he will learn what time he can start yelling for us in the am! :)

The wall to the left of his bed has his big train poster. This was a poster print (4 bucks at Walgreens!) from a vintage magazine my mom found at an antique store. Also in a thrift store frame!
The curtains on this wall are my favorite part (and the pillow!). I am loving the chevron in his room, and so glad I ordered enough fabric for a pillow too! I am already thinking about what to make with the rest! (something baby related!) PS- please ignore how floppy the curtains look, I need to get more ring hooks to hold them up, they are a little droopy but wanted to just get them up!
The bookshelves under the windows are something from Pinterest, Ikea spice racks, and D loved painting these!
These are my must haves while being pregnant, some in only certain trimesters. I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember what they are. Story of my life at the moment. :)

Leggings-I just bought these at H&M and they are amazing!! I love how they go over the belly, makes them super comfortable. I didn't own many pairs of leggings last pregnancy, but I have a feeling, its all I'm going to wear this fall!
Bella Band- I didn't use it as much the first time, probably because I was so excited about buying new maternity clothes, that I just wore those instead. This time, I wore my regular shorts all summer instead of buying maternity ones (besides one pair of maternity jean shorts).
Boppy Body Pillow- Last time, I used three different pillows and they usually ended up on the floor or not in the right place. This pillow is great because it replaces all those pillows and helps me sleep better! This will come in handy even more in third trimester.
Sparkling Soda-I probably wouldn't have survived my first trimester without Izze. Thats all.
Gummy vitamins-Horse pills are my worst enemy, my throat always closes up in fear at the sight of them. I started using flintstone vitamins at the end of last pregnancy, but those still tasted awful. At least these go down easy and taste good!
Baby Center App-There have been a few times people ask me what week I am and I have to think about it for a second. I don't keep up with it aka someone has sucked all my brain cells away already. ha! This sends me a notification every Monday and says what week I am...it does my brain's job for me.
Water-love me some water!! Gotta stay hydrated!
Layering tanks-The long and lean tanks from target or Old Navy tanks come in handy to extend the life of non maternity clothes.
Skinny belt-In order for my boobs and belly to not be one giant blob that runs together under a shirt (I call it the short waisted, big boobed problem), I need definition between the two...so I will be wearing lots of skinny belts this fall with tunics and sweaters (that way, I can wear a lot more of my regular clothes!)
Work out shoes-My dear hubby bought these fabulous pink Nikes for me on Mother's Day. They are great because they have a lot more give to them, so when my feet grow, I can still go to the gym!
Took him about 3 nights to go down without any problems. The first night, I cuddled with him until he fell asleep, took about 45 min. The 2nd night, he asked for about 10 things before going to sleep. Now, we put him down, he talks to himself and then falls asleep! I think it was so easy because it was his idea. He wanted to go ahead and sleep in the "big bed" so we said sure, why not!

A couple things we found that are going in his room:

train bedding from overstock.com

The bedding is perfect, my mother in law found it with her awesome
google searching skills. I tried to search for black and white train
bedding (I was picturing something just like this one in my mind) but
couldn't find anything online! We were going to get something similar in
color at Ikea, but this is perfect bc of the trains!

curtains from Etsy

Chevron curtains are hard to find, most of them are handmade and super expensive. I'm going to find the fabric and make them myself to save the money! They will look similar to above with a black rod for hanging. I love the pop of yellow!

The first is a lady who makes monogrammed shirts, pillows etc and lives locally. I saw cute patriotic designs on her Facebook page and decided I wanted to have one made instead of making one myself. Lets face it, I don't have time to make things right now! Plus, I just love the clean look of embroidery!

Dilly and I drove to pick the shirt up the other day and discovered a couple places in Cary. First was Gigi's Cupcakes. I heard the name before and knew they were in Raleigh, but didn't know they were in Cary. These cupcakes were A- MA- ZING. The icing was 3 in high and the cupcakes were nice and moist. YUM. I had a white chocolate chip raspberry and D had hummingbird. Good thing they are so far away! After we devoured the cupcakes in a non graceful way, we saw a park right below us at the shopping center. Kind of random, but they had a little park and splashground right in the middle of the center. It was fenced in and perfect for kids his age. He loved splashing in the water of course, and he was able to burn off some sugar.

Lots of fun things I hope to try or buy again soon! :)
This summer will be a big change for Dilly man! We are moving his room next door so we don't have to flip flop bed and crib. It worked out nice since now we only have to paint one room vs two! When I saw the inspiration board above, I knew it was what we needed to do. The walls are already that grey color and Dillon is obsessed with trains! I am excited to start collecting train things for the walls and find some matching decor. We are going to hit up Ikea for curtains, blankets, duvet, sheets, etc then lots of antique/thrift stores for train things. I found a huge train book today along with 4 8x10 white frames and got started on some wall art (all from Ollie's).
This took FOREVERRRRRR. I cut out all the pictures, then changed my mind about 234364564534 times before I liked the completed collage. I am pretty happy with the results!
It feels weird this go round not showing as early, but here is a little glimpse. This is more for my record, I won't be posting belly shots all the time but just a few so this baby doesn't feel left out! (sorry little gummy, you get crappy phone pics, lol)
Obviously, it was meant to be for us to have a crazy end of year with birthdays, holidays and anniversaries all in the same 3 months! Something I dreaded, but now I am looking forward to the chaos! :) I had a feeling I was preggo at Disney, but ignored it and carried on. On the way home, I was SUPER bloated and took a test the day we got back. Well, it popped up in about 5 seconds, and then of course I had to take a couple more to be sure. :) I didn't tell Evan until the next day b/c I wanted to surprise him! Dillon and I found a Big Brother shirt and a cute card that said something like "This world needs more people like you, glad to see we are doing something about it!" I put a preg test in the card and the shirt on Dillon. He was definitely surprised and excited! Looking back, I am sooooo glad I wasn't feeling bad yet at Disney because I don't know what I would have done. A few weeks later, things started to unfold and let me tell you, they unfolded a whole lot more than the first time! In just a couple weeks I went from having a virus or food poisoning, full body hives for four days, a UTI and then another rash from the antibiotics. Besides all of that and the all day nausea, I am thankful it hasn't been worse and things are starting to level out now that I'm in the second trimester, whoop whoop!!
I signed up to be a volunteer for a free ultrasound in a couple weeks. It is for training techs/nurses and I am crossing all my fingers and toes they can find out the sex for us! If not, we can just wait until our Dr visit and hopefully find out then! I am super happy to still fit into all my regular clothes, especially my shorts/jeans. I always heard you start showing a lot sooner the second pregnancy, so I was thrilled to still be on the smaller side! The not eating for 3 months probably had something to do with that, but the baby is making up for it now! We recently took some announcement pictures with my wonderful friend Lauren/LES Photography.
They turned out so awesome! I love hanging out with their family, so it
was perfect for us to trade sessions! Here are a few super cute
pictures I will treasure for a long time, can't wait to make some prints
for the playroom! :)

Our Disney trip was a while ago, so I figured it was time to post about and catch up on our lives, because we have a lot going on! First of all, Disney was so magical and just what we hoped for. The weather was probably the best you could get at Disney this time of year (no rain, sunny and low humidity) Dillon had a blast and that is all that matters. He did GREAT on the trip down, didn't nap (I knew he would be too excited) but played with all his 23434576567354 activities I brought along to distract him. Of course, the Iphone and DVD player helped too! We stayed in the All Start Sports Resort, in the basketball suites. D loved the giant basketballs, hoops, courts and of course, the pool!

I'm glad we had some down time to just chill by the pool and relax, we definitely needed it!
We went to three parks during the week and the first day, we went to Downtown Disney to get all the Disney things we needed like an autograph book, Mickey ears, first visit pins, etc. We had fun riding the little rides like the carousel and train. We went to Legoland, saw the giant lego sculptures and played with some legos, of course! I saw a giant lollipop the size of Dillon's head, and bought it for him to eat for a few days. It lasted a while and came in handy when he needed a distraction at the parks.
The first park we went to was Epcot. Dillon's favorite part was watching the monorail go by. He called it a train and insisted we take a ride. We got on, but immediately got off because he didn't like it. Oh well! He loved the "big ball" and talked about that a lot. The big water fountains were also a big hit. He enjoyed the Nemo ride and seeing all the fish afterwards in the aquarium! His first character meet was here, and it was Pooh and Tiger. If you go to Disney, I highly recommend the Disneyworld app (can't remember the name, but its the official one they created) because it tells you where the characters are in the parks, and how long they will be there. We knew where they would be and were waiting close enough to get in line quick! After meeting Pooh and Tiger, we stayed in Great Britain to hear some music in a courtyard and relax. Dillon loved it, and played the air drums like a pro. We had dinner in Italy and had the best 5 dollar slice of pizza I've ever had! haha!
The next day, we were off to Animal Kingdom! Dillon LOVED AK! Most of all, because he got to see lots of characters! He was the most patient I have ever seen him while waiting in the lines to see them. We waited 20-30 minutes and he was awesome. I think he would have waited an hour to see his favorites! He saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pocahontas and Baloo (Sp?) We saw lots of animals walking around and enjoyed the parade with all the favorite characters. There were some pretty big contraptions that were like giant animals Dillon wasn't too sure about, so I held him the entire parade while taking pictures with my other hand. That was a good workout! The Lion King Show was pretty cool, but we didn't stay the whole time, D was antsy to go! We had lunch at a cool spot, down behind the BBQ place. It overlooked the water and the big roller coaster. A hidden spot that was quiet and relaxing! After lunch, we went on the safari. Dillon loved seeing the animals. He said his favorite one was the giraffe!
The final park was Magic Kingdom! This is also my favorite park. We took our picture in front of the castle, went on a few rides like Its A Small World, Dumbo, almost the race cars, and almost Monsters Inc. The no naps all week were catching up to him and he had a few meltdowns and didn't want to ride certain rides. Oh well, whatcha gonna do? He did get to see Mickey and Minnie again, in their original form (the other ones had on safari outfits at AK) and he was so cute. He hugged them tight and was so bashful. But he loved every second! After seeing them, we did some shopping in the toy store! He also got to meet Buzz, ride the big train all around MK and see another parade!
Well, those were the highlights from our trip! I am so happy we were able to go, and I'm looking forward to the next time we go when D is a little older! Just seeing his face light up the whole week and hearing him say "this is fun!" over and over makes everything worth it! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd needless to say...he slept the entire way home. :)
I saw this on Pinterest a while ago and have been meaning to order some, when my friend posted a link to the website and it reminded me about them! After seeing my neighbor's cute magnets of her girl's artwork shrunk down, I thought this would also be a cute way to save his favorite artwork of mine. They come in packs of 9, all the size they are on your phone. I used a couple of his artwork and then some from our Disney trip. We always need more magnets so this is perfect, and an easy way to display my favorite pics of D! Here is a code if you want to order, you get $2 off! FRIEND5DJ9
Happy Instagraming!!
The rides were great, Dillon's favorites were the train and the boats. Here is a cute little video of him riding with his cousin. D was waving at everyone as they went around, haha! He thought he was hot stuff!
He asks every day if its time to go see "big Mickey" yet, and we go over how many days until we leave and "daddy's coming too, mommy's coming too, Dillon's coming too." The only thing I am a little nervous about is the trip down and back. D is pretty good in the car now, but we have never driven THIS far with him. My mind has been ticking about all the activities to collect the past few weeks to keep him busy as much as possible. We are leaving super early Monday morning and hoping we can occupy him with breakfast, lots of playing, videos, more eating, Iphone apps, lunch and then maybe we can get a nice long nap thrown in there (say a prayer for a LONG one, lol). Then, it will hopefully be time for dinner when he gets up, more playing and then arrive in Orlando! While out shopping, Dillon and I have hit up the cheap stores to look for little activities...I didn't want to spend a fortune on new toys/stuff for him that he will probably just ruin or loose on the trip. The goal is to bring some new stuff to get his attention and some things he already has that are his favorites. To my surprise, Dollar Tree had a TON of Mickey stuff...score!! My new favorite "cheap as dirt and awesome toddler toy" store is Five Below. Couldn't believe all the cool stuff I found! Here is a start of what we have so far...I'm sure this will only get us through a couple hours, haha!

I will label everything and where I found it in case you may need ideas for <strike>keeping your sanity</strike> fun road trip activities!
